This 7-hour instructor-led class teaches participants what they need to know to successfully contribute in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) projects. RCA training includes interactive instruction, class activities and discussion, and periodic knowledge examinations that lead to recognition of proficiency in this important process.

Students learn how to identify and describe problems to be addressed by RCA and then enter the RCA process to discover, assess, and eliminate the root cause of the situation and establish effective monitoring and control mechanisms to prevent the situation from reoccurring.

Participants explore the systematic RCA process to advance from basic personnel, equipment and process issues as causes to higher level organizational and management systems that can be linked directly to the causes of problems in organizations. Participants learn how to complete an RCA effectively and ensure that the problem is in fact eliminated.

This class teaches the language and general practices of RCA as well as examines several techniques and tools useful in an effective RCA project.

Topics included in this class:

* Foundations and definition of Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

* The cornerstones, language, and practices of RCA.

* General guidelines for conducting RCA projects.
